SE Ranking review

This is a desk review. It is based on SE Ranking’s public pages and third-party ratings, checked on 3 October 2026. We have not tested the product for this review, so there is no test score. The rating out of 10 is the editor’s own judgement. The focus is on link building and off-page features, not the full suite.

Backlink data

SE Ranking’s Backlink Checker page states an index of 2.9 trillion backlinks and 428 million domains, with 6 billion pages crawled daily. It also states that 58 percent of backlinks are updated every 90 days. Few vendors publish a freshness figure at all, so that number is useful, even though it means a large share of the index is older than three months.

By the vendors’ own figures the index is smaller than its main rivals: Semrush states more than 43 trillion backlinks and Ahrefs 35 trillion. Vendors count in different ways, so read these as a guide to scale only.

The reports cover referring domains, anchor text, the dofollow and nofollow ratio, and new and lost backlinks over a period you choose. SE Ranking’s own metrics are Domain Trust, Page Trust and a toxicity score. These are not the DR or DA figures that link sellers quote, so you may still need a second source when checking a seller’s claims. See how to vet a publisher.

Monitoring and prospecting

The Backlink Tracker monitors a list of links and notifies you of changes. That is the feature most relevant to anyone who pays for placements, because the common failures are a link removed, switched to nofollow or pointed elsewhere after the guarantee ends. The plan comparison lists “Backlink Research & Monitoring” in both Core and Growth, with no quantity limit shown in the table. Confirm the monitoring limits for your plan during the trial.

For prospecting, the Backlink Gap Analyzer compares your profile with up to five competitors and shows the domains you lack. There is also a broken link checker and a backlink API. SE Ranking has no outreach tool, so pair it with a platform such as BuzzStream if you send pitches at volume.

AI visibility

The base plans include daily AI prompt limits: 100 prompts a day on Core and 250 on Growth. A separate AI Search add-on costs EUR 79 a month, or EUR 63.20 a month on annual billing. It includes an AI Results Tracker for AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT, with competitor research across the same four.

SE Ranking holds a Trustpilot score of 4.2 from 711 reviews, checked in October 2026. That compares with 1.7 for Semrush, 2.2 for Ahrefs and 2.4 for Moz on the same platform in the same month.
