How it works
Smartlead is a sending platform. You connect as many mailboxes as you like, it warms them and rotates between them, and replies from every campaign land in one “master inbox”. Its home page says you pay for emails sent, not for mailboxes. It also describes private sending infrastructure with dedicated IP addresses, AI agents for research and reply sorting, a dialler, a white label option for agencies, and an API with webhooks. It claims more than 100,000 business customers.
None of this is specific to links. For a link building agency, the appeal is the structure: separate client workspaces, many sending addresses and one place to answer replies. A team that sends modest volumes will find the same sequence features in cheaper or simpler tools, and may be better served by an outreach CRM such as Pitchbox that records publishers and placements.
Volume and reply quality
Smartlead’s plans are sized in tens and hundreds of thousands of emails a month. Link building rarely needs that. A campaign depends on a short list of relevant sites and a pitch worth reading, as our lessons on link prospecting and link outreach emails set out. If you buy sending capacity, use it to protect deliverability across several mailboxes, not to mail every address you can find.
