Nightwatch review

This review is based on Nightwatch’s public pages and third-party ratings, checked on 4 October 2026. The rating out of 10 is the editor’s own judgement. The focus is on the AI tracking features, not the full rank tracker.

What it does

Nightwatch began as a rank tracker and has added AI tracking to the same product. The home page lists daily positions on Google, Bing, YouTube, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo, local tracking in more than 107,000 locations down to zip code level, a site audit, white-label reports and an MCP server.

The AI tracking page says Nightwatch monitors how and when your brand appears in answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with daily updates. The reports it names are an AI visibility score, sentiment (positive, neutral or negative), share of voice against competitors, average position in list-style answers, and what it calls Citation Intelligence, which maps citations back to source URLs.

That last report is the one that matters for off-page work. It tells you which third-party pages the assistants cite for your prompts. Our lessons on how AI search chooses sources and how to measure AI visibility explain what to do with that list.

Having ranks and AI answers in one tool has a practical use. Nightwatch says its citation report connects a ranking change to an AI citation change, so you can see both in one place. That is the case for a combined tool over a prompt-only tracker such as Otterly.AI.

The answer allowance works out at 30 answers per prompt each month. If you track a prompt daily on five assistants you would need 150, so check during the trial how the allowance is spent.

Pricing

The pricing page showed Starter at EUR 79 a month, Professional at EUR 159 and Agency at EUR 399, next to yearly totals of EUR 948, EUR 1,908 and EUR 4,788 and a stated saving of EUR 240, EUR 480 and EUR 1,200. Those savings imply a higher price on monthly billing. The home page showed EUR 99, EUR 199 and EUR 499 a month and said that paying yearly takes two months off. We read both pages on 4 October 2026 and could not reconcile them, so treat EUR 79 as the yearly billing rate and confirm the monthly rate at checkout.

Enterprise pricing is on request. The trial is 14 days with no credit card. The pricing page says there is no long-term commitment and that you can cancel at any time. We could not find a terms page to read the refund rules.

For comparison, SE Ranking charges EUR 109 a month for its Core plan and sells full AI results tracking as a EUR 79 add-on.

What public reviews say

Nightwatch’s home page quotes a G2 score of 4.8 from 310 reviews and says more than 10,000 SEO teams use the product. Both are the vendor’s figures. We could not open G2 today to confirm the score, and we found no Trustpilot profile under the Nightwatch domain.
