BrandMentions review

This review is based on BrandMentions’ public pages and third-party ratings, checked on 4 October 2026. The rating out of 10 is the editor’s own judgement.

What it does

BrandMentions describes itself as a social listening and brand monitoring tool for web and social monitoring. You enter keywords, and it collects public mentions with sentiment data. The home page names sentiment analysis, competitor analysis, email alerts and what it calls New Links Notifications. It does not list the individual platforms it covers in the text we read.

For off-page work, two points stand out. The link notifications tell you when a new link appears, which most listening tools leave to backlink software. And a customer testimonial on the home page describes exporting results to find mentions that lack a link, which is the workflow behind unlinked mention outreach. The vendor states more than 12,400 brands and agencies as customers and more than 32 billion mentions delivered. These are its own figures.

Starter has basic sentiment and standard reports. Pro adds multilingual sentiment and an AI assistant. White-label reports, audience demographics and Boolean search start at Expert. API access and historical data are listed under Enterprise only. Boolean search is the feature that keeps a mention feed clean, so its place on the $499 plan is a real limit. Awario lists it on every plan.

Prices are as shown on BrandMentions’ pricing page on 4 October 2026. The page labels the higher Starter price as quarterly billing and the higher Pro and Expert prices as monthly billing. The trial is seven days.

Refund and cancellation terms

The terms are stricter than most in this category. They say BrandMentions is not required to refund any share of a subscription fee already paid, and that a customer is not entitled to a refund for not having used the service. To stop an automatic renewal you must give written notice at least three business days before the renewal date, by email from the account owner’s address, or deactivate the account while logged in.

If you take the trial, note the end date and cancel in writing before it if you do not plan to stay.

What public reviews say

BrandMentions holds a Trustpilot score of 2.3 from 16 reviews, checked in October 2026. Of those, 88 percent are one-star and 12 percent five-star. Several reviewers report charges after a free trial, and one says they were charged after receiving a cancellation confirmation. The company replies to negative reviews and usually directs the reviewer to its support team. Sixteen reviews is a small sample, and unhappy customers are more likely to post, but the complaints match the strict terms above.

The home page quotes 4.9 out of 5 on G2. We could not open G2 today to confirm the score or the number of reviews.
