Similarweb review

This review is based on Similarweb’s public pages and third-party ratings, checked on 4 October 2026. The rating out of 10 is the editor’s own judgement. It covers the AI Brand Visibility product, not the full Similarweb suite.

What it tracks

Similarweb is best known for website traffic estimates. AI Brand Visibility is its newer product for tracking where a brand appears in AI search. You set up topics, and the tool reports:

• Visibility: how often your brand appears in AI answers for the topics you track.
• Prompts: the questions behind each topic, so you can see what people ask.
• Benchmarks: your share of brand mentions against the top 30 brands for each topic.
• Citations: the domains and specific URLs that influence the answers.
• Sentiment: mentions filtered by positive, neutral and negative.

The product page lists ChatGPT, Google AI Mode (Gemini) and Perplexity, and says it also monitors Grok, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. It states that visibility data is ready within an hour of setting up a campaign and is updated daily.

For off-page work, the citation report is the one to open first. It gives you the pages the engines lean on, which is where a mention or link can change the answer. See how AI search chooses sources.

AI traffic

The feature that sets Similarweb apart from prompt-only trackers is AI traffic: the visits that AI assistants refer to your site from within conversations. Most tools in this category show mentions but not visits. Having both helps you judge whether a rise in mentions is worth anything. Prices are as shown on Similarweb’s AI Brand Visibility page on 4 October 2026. The page text we read did not make clear whether these are monthly or annual billing rates, so check at checkout. Each plan is offered with a free trial. The page does not state the trial length.

Similarweb’s main pricing page shows no prices. It describes self-service packages for entrepreneurs and custom packages for businesses, and points to a sales contact or a trial.

The middle plan includes backlink data and a rank tracker, which makes it a competitor to suites such as SE Ranking and Semrush, both of which sell AI visibility as an add-on.

What public reviews say

Similarweb holds a Trustpilot score of 4.4 from 785 reviews, checked in October 2026. Of those, 72 percent are five-star and 19 percent are one-star. The one-star reviews are mostly about subscriptions and billing, so read the renewal and cancellation terms before you start a trial. The reviews cover the whole company, not the AI Brand Visibility product alone.
