Link building in Poland
Poland is a cheap and very SEO-literate link market. Established Polish publishers quote a median of $480 for a sponsored article, prices are negotiable, and a followed link can cost extra. Two of Europe's large link marketplaces started here.
In short
- ESBO's September 2026 analysis of 16,625 publishers put the median sponsored article in Polish at $480, below the global median of $570 and close to the Central and Eastern European median of $490.
- Ahrefs' 2023 guide to international link building described Poland as an advanced market where site owners know link building well and expect to negotiate.
- The same Ahrefs guide reported that buyers in Poland sometimes have to pay more for a followed link.
- WhitePress, which has Polish origins, listed more than 148,000 websites and 384,000 offers in 36 languages when we checked on 4 October 2026.
- UOKiK, the Polish consumer authority, says clear and unambiguous labelling of advertising is the duty of influencers, agencies and advertisers alike.
Poland is one of the cheaper link markets in Europe and, by practitioner accounts, one of the most SEO-literate. ESBO’s September 2026 analysis of direct quotes from 16,625 publishers put the median sponsored article in Polish at $480. The global median in the same study was $570, and the German median was $1,230.
Low prices here do not come from inexperienced sellers. Ahrefs’ 2023 guide to international link building described Polish site owners as well versed in link building, and reported that negotiation is expected. For the comparison across all countries, see international link building.
What links cost in Polish
| Market | Median sponsored article | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Polish | $480 | ESBO, September 2026 |
| Central and Eastern Europe, combined | $490 | ESBO, September 2026 |
| All publishers | $570 | ESBO, September 2026 |
| Spanish | $655 | ESBO, September 2026 |
| French | $870 | ESBO, September 2026 |
| German | $1,230 | ESBO, September 2026 |
ESBO only counted publishers with a Domain Rating above 30 and at least 2,000 organic visits a month, so $480 describes established sites. It did not publish the number of Polish publishers in its sample.
This is the only dated price figure for Poland that we found. We found no marketplace report with average prices for Poland, so there is no second dataset to check it against. Treat $480 as a starting point for a budget and expect the price you pay to differ, for the reasons in the next section.
How Polish publishers sell
The best public description comes from Ahrefs’ 2023 guide to international link building, which drew on a link building team lead working across European markets. It is one practitioner’s account and more than three years old, but it is specific:
| Habit | What the guide reported |
|---|---|
| Knowledge | Poland is an advanced market where many site owners are well versed in link building |
| Price | Negotiation is expected |
| Link attribute | Buyers sometimes have to pay more for a followed link |
| Channel | The practitioner reported doing all of her outreach in Poland by phone, with success |
| Tone | Slavic cultures tend to use the most formal communication in Europe. The guide did not describe Poland’s tone separately |
Three things follow for a buyer.
First, the list price is an opening offer. If you pay the first figure quoted, you may be paying more than a buyer who negotiates.
Second, do not assume what the link will look like. Ask in the first message whether the link is followed, whether the article is labelled as sponsored, and how long it stays live. Then get the price for that exact combination. The lesson on link attributes explains what each option means for ranking credit.
Third, a translated English email template is a weak opening in a market that may expect a formal tone and sometimes a phone call. A Polish speaker, in house or at an agency, is better placed to negotiate.
What published terms look like
Some Polish publishers put their conditions online, which shows how standardised the product has become. The cooperation terms of one Polish business advice portal, read on 4 October 2026, state that:
- a paid article is marked “Artykuł sponsorowany” under the title
- an article may contain at most three followed links to one domain
- the buyer chooses between 12 months and an indefinite period
- extra followed links in existing articles are sold as a separate service
That is a single publisher, not a survey. It is still a useful picture of what to expect: a labelled article, a cap on links, a choice of term, and link insertions priced separately. If a publisher’s terms do not cover these points, ask before you order, and write the answers into your placement brief.
Marketplaces
Poland is unusual in having produced two large link marketplaces.
WhitePress has Polish origins and now operates from London. When we checked its site on 4 October 2026 it listed more than 148,000 websites and more than 384,000 offers in 36 languages, with a 36-month guarantee on publications.
Linkhouse is also Polish. Third-party listings credit it with more than 90,000 websites in 25 languages. We could not read its own site to confirm that, and we have not reviewed it.
A marketplace shows you prices and handles payment. It does not tell you which sites are worth buying. BuzzStream’s 2026 analysis of roughly 257,000 sites that sell guest posts rated 96.2% as low quality. Use the checks in how to vet a publisher on every site, and see the marketplace comparison for how the platforms differ. One note on price: a marketplace shows a fixed figure, while the Ahrefs account says direct deals are negotiated. Comparing the listed price with a direct quote from the same site is a simple test of the margin.
Labelling rules
UOKiK, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, publishes recommendations on labelling advertising content. They are written for influencer marketing on social media, not for sponsored articles on news sites. The principle on its influencer marketing page, read on 4 October 2026, is that clear, unambiguous and understandable labelling of advertising is the duty of influencers, advertising agencies and advertisers. It gives “[Post sponsorowany]” and “#MateriałKomercyjny” as examples of suitable labels.
We did not find a UOKiK page that deals with paid articles on websites, so we make no claim about how the authority treats them. The practical point is narrower. In the influencer context, the regulator’s stated view is that the advertiser shares the duty to label. A brand should not assume that labelling is only the publisher’s problem. This is general information, not legal advice.
Where to go next
Poland sits inside a wider regional market with similar prices. See link building in Central and Eastern Europe for Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine. To build a budget, read what link building costs. Any term used here is defined in the glossary.
Common questions
How much does a backlink cost in Poland?
ESBO's September 2026 data shows a median of $480 for a sponsored article on an established Polish-language site. That is a list price from direct quotes, and the market expects negotiation.
Is Poland a cheap market for link building?
Yes, compared with Western Europe. The Polish median of $480 is well under the German median of $1,230 and the French median of $870 in ESBO's 2026 data.
Do Polish publishers charge more for dofollow links?
Sometimes. Ahrefs' 2023 guide reported that when negotiating a paid link in Poland you sometimes have to pay more for a followed link. Ask for the attribute and the price together.
Which marketplaces are strongest in Poland?
WhitePress and Linkhouse both started in Poland and carry large Polish inventories. International platforms such as Collaborator also list Polish sites.
Are sponsored articles labelled in Poland?
Publishers that publish their terms often say so. One Polish business portal's terms, read in October 2026, state that paid articles carry the words "Artykuł sponsorowany" under the title.
